UPDATE YOUR VOTER REGISTRATION

While your first-time voter registration in Texas cannot be done online and MUST be signed by you in person.

While you can update your address after a move or change your name online through the Texas Secretary of State's Voter Name and Address Changes web pages, it is easier and more secure to update your registration through the Hays County Elections Office or one of the LWV of Hays County's many volunteer deputy registrars (VDRs) and their voter registration events around the county.

Find your VUID number on your voter registration card, at "Am I Registered" at VoteTexas.gov, or through the first QR code to the Hays County Elections  tool to the right, or by calling their office (see the number below. (There have been some glitches, including false negatives, with the state's tool.)

The Hays County's registration tool can only tell you that you are registered and what precinct, but not whether you are registered at your current address. To double-check to make sure you are, call the Elections Office at (512) 393-7310.

If you want to double-check your registration status in Hays County, the Hays County Elections Office provides this link (or use the QR code to the right. You cannot see whether the Elections Office has the correct address for you, but you can verify that you are registered and in which precinct you are registered. To make sure they have your current address, call the Elections Office at 512-393-7310‬.

The deadline to update your voter registration for a name change or change of address is the the same deadline to register to vote for that particular election.

VOTER NAME AND ADDRESS CHANGES

Check to see if you are registered at the right address (QR code to the right).

If it doesn't show you at all, double-check the Hays County records (QR code on the left).

Download an application to receive  ballot by mail here to complete and mail to the Elections Office.
